Our commercial kitchen offers counter service of vegetarian dishes from our produce, to be enjoyed anywhere on campus or taken to go.
Copeland Springs Kitchen is seeking a dedicated lead cook/team leader. You will help drive the menus and the creative use of the produce we have in season on the farm. We have a base menu we will work from for daily meals but the creative use of extra produce or "seconds" is where you can really shine.
This is a small commercial kitchen and teamwork and ability to multi-task are critical. Attention to detail, friendly demeanor and tireless customer service are crucial.
Our farm is Certified Naturally Grown, meaning we use organic practices and care about the health of our soils, the food we produce and our customers. We grow a variety of vegetables/fruits, mushrooms and cut flowers.
This is an opportunity to help shape this restaurant and how we serve our community.
Immediate opening for a weekend cook (about 15 hrs), with option for Thurs/Fri if you want it.
Anticipate expanding hours in the near future as well.
So, anywhere from 15-35 hours is possible. More than 35 is quite possible too if that's what you're looking for!
Lead Cook/Team Leader Duties include
Work closely with farm team to plan the menus around seasonal produce
Bring creative solutions
Food preparation, presentation and quality control
Maintaining a high level of cleanliness in the kitchen
Ensure efficient use of immediately available produce
Lead kitchen team when manager isn't present
-Knowledge of health & safety rules in a kitchen (Serv Safe or other)
-Prefer a minimum of 2 years experience in kitchen/restaurant/food service.
-Flexibility, creativity and collaboration
-Strong customer service skills
