We are located at The Plant in Pittsboro and are accepting applications and interviewing for various positions on our team. 

If desired, employees always have the option to work both on the farm and in the kitchen shop (customer facing), giving everyone the opportunity to both grow and see the food prepared. 

 

We are seeking dedicated, flexible and passionate folks to join us in working hard to create a nourishing community offering.  Our farm produces a wide variety of vegetables/fruits, mushrooms and cut flowers for our CSA/Farmshare, online sales and to support the on-farm restaurant.

Farm Manager- 1 full time position (~30-40 hrs/wk)

Work in all aspects of farm operations including greenhouse production, field work from seeding/transplanting through cultivation, harvest, post-harvest and packing. We are currently working on a lot of infrastructure like building high tunnels, a propagation house and irrigation. If you have skills that contribute well to those projects, awesome! If not, we can teach you. 

Qualifications:

·       At least one year of experience working in a leadership position on a production farm

·       Ability to lead and perform all tasks necessary for farm crew members

·       History of exceptional organization as it relates to crop production, documentation and record keeping.

·       Ability to work hard (even in less than ideal conditions) and maintain a good sense of communication and humor

·       Ability to plan and manage seasonal crops to ensure year-round crops for adequate food production for CSA & kitchen use

·       Ability to perform basic farm machinery and tool maintenance and repair.

·       Experience in high tunnel operations and season extension. 

Compensation: competitive (plus tips) and really depends on your experience and skills/efficiency. PTO for full time employees.  Annual performance based raises. You will also receive a CSA share.

Farm Crew Member- 1 full time position (30-40 hrs/wk)

·       Clean driving record (CSA delivery)

·       Ability to take and follow direction in detail (and also to give clear direction!)

·       Ability and willingness to work with speed and accuracy

·       Confidence to work unsupervised once trained to our practices but also the wisdom to know when to ask questions

Farming is physically demanding, dirty, and challenging.  It also requires mental flexibility.

We are seeking a team member who understands that, embraces that and works as a team to produce excellent results. ​

Option to grow this position into a leadership position within the farm.

Kitchen Cook - (1 full or part time position

Immediate opening for a cook with preference for someone with baking skills.

Weekend availability required.

We are a small team, communication and whole hearted effort are important! 

You will help dream up and execute the menus and the creative use of the produce we have in season on the farm. 

Duties include​​

-receiving and processing vegetables from the farm

-working closely with kitchen manager to execute weekly recipes 

-Maintaining clean work area

-Knowledge & application of food safety codes

-Chipping in wherever help is needed

Qualifications

-ServSafe Food Handlers certification (minimum)
-Excellent customer service skills

-Attention to detail, ability to prioritize tasks and proactive thinking to accomplish them

-Ability to multitask 
-Flexibility, creativity and collaboration 

-Ability to work from written or verbal instructions

-Ability to work hard (even in less than ideal conditions) and maintain a good sense of communication and humor

-Ability to take and follow direction in detail (and also to give clear direction!)

-Ability and willingness to work with speed and accuracy

-Comfort working with vegetables from a farm that have quite a bit of natural variances in flavor & size/texture​

-Be capable of working with and learning from others

Customer Service/Dishwashing (Part Time position)
Copeland Springs Kitchen is seeking an experienced Kitchen Crew member with commitment and passion for seasonal, farm fresh food.  This is a small commercial kitchen and teamwork and ability to multi-task are critical. Attention to detail, friendly demeanor and tireless customer service are crucial.

Duties include:

  • Friendly interaction with customers taking food orders/payments

  • Washing/prepping food

  • Dish washing (as needed)

  • Maintaining clean work and customer area

Qualifications
Knowledge of health & safety rules in a kitchen (Serv Safe or other)
Prefer a minimum of 1 year experience in kitchen/restaurant/food service. Flexibility, creativity and collaboration will be required
Strong customer service skills
